Is it possible that Islam extremists or their allies could emerge as a political voting bloc in the 2016 U.S elections, powerful enough to constitute a swing vote and even determine the outcome of a closely contested U.S election? Robert Spencer, in the Bibleprophecyblog.com, suggests that the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim American Society (MAS) and their allied groups are so practiced in deception, and so many American voters are so ignorant and indifferent, that this group could gain real traction, ultimately transforming American politics.
Spencer’s analysis is based on a news report from investors.com that states that the radical Muslim Brotherhood has built the framework for a political party in America under the umbrella of the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO) that seeks to turn Muslims into an Islamist voting bloc, with an eye toward the 2016 election.
USCMO spokesman Nihad Awad reportedly would like to “bring more participation from the Muslim community,” and to elect Islamists in Washington, with the ultimate objective of “institutionalizing policies” favorable to Islamists—that is, Shariah law.
What is most alarming about this is that the U.S Brotherhood (after 9/11) has already been exposed for having created a detailed subversive plan to wage a “civilization jihad” against America that explicitly calling for infiltration of the U.S. political system and “destroying (it) from within.”
Some of the Brotherhood front organizations quoted in the exposed secret subversive documents now constitute part of the newly formed USCMO, which is currently fronted by the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations. The council is described by investors.com as the catalyst behind this “Trojan horse jihadist political party” with links to terrorist groups such as Al Qaeda and Hamas through CAIR and MAS representatives, some of whose allies and contacts have been investigated and arrested over time.
The chairman of America’s new Islamist party is none other than Oussama Jammal, who once headed the notorious Bridgeview Mosque in Chicago. As Bridgeview’s president, Jammal blasted the FBI for arresting terrorist members and even expressed doubts that al-Qaida was responsible for 9/11. Not surprisingly, USCMO’s 30-point “policy platform” for “promoting Islam’s core universal principles to benefit American society” reportedly excludes combating radicalism within the Muslim community. USCMO membership is currently restricted to Muslims vetted by the Brotherhood prior to acceptance.
Part of USCMO strategy is likely to include winning friends and sympathizers in the political arena who may not be Muslims or publicly supportive of Islam, but can wield influence toward wider acceptance and power of USCMO in politics and society under the guise of freedom and tolerance of religion, as well as the embracing of religious moderates as opposed to extremists.
New Republic published a report that represents a typical case study of this strategy. Shortly after 9/11, Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, helped orchestrate various post-September 11 events that brought together Muslim leaders and administration officials. The report states that Norquist denied being involved in “micromanaging the specifics” of White House meetings, but admits: “I have been a long time advocate of outreach to the Muslim community.” The report record suggests that he has spent quite a lot of time promoting people openly sympathetic to Islamist terrorists, and that he has pushed Republican leaders to support a prohibition on the government’s use of “secret evidence” in the deportation of suspected terrorists.
According to shoebat.com, USCMO spokesman Nihad Awad knows what it’s like to wield influence in Washington, D.C. As head of CAIR, he led one of the many groups that gained access to the George W. Bush White House both before and after 9/11, assisted and facilitated at least in part by Grover Norquist.
Awad, along with Dr. Yahya Basha, who was president of the now-defunct American Muslim Council, Salam Al-Marayati, the Executive Director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC), and Muzammil Siddiqi, then-President of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), were all relied upon by the Bush administration to help develop what shoebat.com describes as the “dangerously flawed strategy” of Muslim Brotherhood outreach.
Sensitive to the dangers of openly supporting terrorist groups, Brotherhood members seem to have mastered the art of deception – effectively publicly articulating policies of peace and moderation while demonstrating actions that are inconsistent with their publicly stated values. Washington Times Communities reported Awad in 2012 stating that stated that “Islam and the U.S. are twins linked by common values.
The values upon which the U.S. was founded are the same values advocated by Islam; freedom, and especially freedom of religion, freedom of speech, protection of minorities and spreading justice among all sectors of society…Islam’s worldview is one of coexistence, of respect for pluralism, and of peace.” These comments and values are hardly consistent with what certain USCMO constituent parties and representatives have been known to reflect or support, especially based on the outcome of investigations following 9/11.
A comment was once made (and published in voe.org) to the effect that “The danger to America in the future will be that America’s (terrorist) enemies that live within will use your own freedoms against you.” Clearly this lesson is yet to be learnt, and only time will tell the price that America will eventually pay.
